Free Nursing Scholarships Applicants are expected to take advantage of the available funds a full five years. It includes an option of two years of research training outside the UK, in British industry, or in other British research center, to enable colleagues to gain transferable techniques and new skills. The scheme also provides a jointly funded postdoctoral award in partnership with the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Eligibility Details:
Free Nursing Scholarships Applicants must have a PhD or DPhil and have at least three to six years' post-doctoral experience at the time of the application deadline, although applications with more than six years post-doctoral experience will also be considered in exceptional circumstances. The application of existing research fellow MRC and post-doctoral researchers returning from abroad are very welcome. Applicants who hold an MSc research oriented and has done graduate work right at least four years of research - such as in medical statistics - may be considered. http://www.callforpapersinfo.com

As with all MRC Free Nursing Scholarships, this award is not available to the people who hold tenured academic positions at the time of application. If you hold a tenured position, you can ask for funding under one of the MRC's grant schemes.
There are no residence eligibility restrictions for this fellowship.
